How To: Hair Regrowth

I'm not going to sit here and say I've found the perfect remedy, because I most certainly have not. I've tried many things and spent a lot of money along the way, and actually I can't pin point what it is exactly that helped me. But I thought I would run through what I did do, to perhaps stop you from making the same mistakes and put you on some products that do genuinely work. Well they did for me anyway.

Bear in mind, I'm not being paid to say this, so my opinion is completely true.

So I'll start off with a few tips that I think have helped. Obviously being in quarantine at home has meant I can do these things a lot more than if I was going out to work or on nights out.

I should mention that I suffer with hair thinning and loss around my crown and hairline, I think it's from the pressure of doing high and tight ponytails. Also my diet isn't great and I rarely exercise anymore.

Anyway here are the habits I started to get into:

1. Stopped using heat. You hear it all the time, but I really notice the difference of fall out if I use any kind of heat. So now I minimise when I do.

2. No up do's. Now, if my hair is in my face, I simply clip up the sides to avoid any pressure on the strands and follicles.

3. Stopped oiling my hair with coconut oil. I know, shocking right? But honestly I saw little results, and found when I washed it out SO much of my hair fell out. It didn't feel worth it to me.

4. Switched up my products. I found products targeted at my certain issues and found they have really helped. I'll run you through my routine below.

5. Started taking hair vitamins. I use the Hair Burst gummy ones, I think they work as I have noticed a lot more hair growth. But I use a few things so I can't be sure.

6. Use microfibre towels. The strain you put on your hair follicles when you use a regular towel is too much. You've got to switch it up boo!

7. Like Stormi, you gotta have patience. Results will never be instant.

8. If you must tie your hair up use a scrunchie. Silk is preferred

9. Silk/satin pillow case, I got mine on Amazon. They're also known to help with skin issues too.

10. Use sulphate and paraben free shampoos. I started using these because I saw so many recommendations for it. However, the only difference I have noticed is that they feel less stripping.

Routine

Take vitamins daily

Alternate between Grow Gorgeous hair serum (currently on sale at Boots) and Aveda Scalp Revitalizer - Apply onto problem patches or all over scalp.

Use a rubber scalp massager to massage product into scalp - Helps stimulate scalp which in time will promote hair growth in those places.

Wash hair twice a week with Hair Burst shampoo and conditioner.

Use L'Oreal Smartbond once a week and any other mask the other day, use a wide tooth comb to brush product through.

After shower

Use a frizz control cream, a leave in conditioner and finish with a hair oil on damp hair, use a wide tooth comb to distribute product.

Leave to dry. For curls I use the robe trick, let me know if you'd like me to show you that.

Once dry use another oil, I use L'oreal Extraordinary Oil.

And that is pretty much it!

Results

As you can tell, my hair now has volume it never had before, it's quite long and it has brought out my natural waves and texture, which I love. This is completely unstyled hair, just washed and air dried.

Have you used any of these products before?
