Style Inspiration: Emily Fields | Pretty Little Liars Edition

Image
"If lying was a crime, we'd all be in jail" - Emily Fields Who else is just loving this season of Pretty Little Liars? It's so good but so annoying at the same time! This is supposed to be the Summer of Answers, Marlene! Some of you may have seen a post I did last week about the fashion musings of Pretty Little Liar, Aria Montgomery. Well this week I'll be displaying some of my favourite looks from Emily Fields. The sweetest liar of them all.  Emily is one of those girls who is a true natural beauty. She doesn't have to try too hard, and still looks stunning even though she dresses casually in shirts and jeans. But just when you think she can't look any more beautiful she goes and gets all dolled up and just looks out of this world.   Emily's style is an easy one to steal, her dress sense, very much like her personality, is sporty and quite easy going. You can definitely catch her rocking check shirts, jeans, denim shorts, baseball jackets ...

Style Inspiration: Aria Montgomery | Pretty Little Liars Edition

Image
"Friends don't let friends sneak into insane asylums alone" - Aria Montgomery Okay so with the new season of Pretty Little Liars starting I could think of no better time to share with you my love for the style in this series.  I thought I would kick start this off with my favourite liar, Aria Montgomery. Her style consists of layering up her outfits with bright and vibrant colours and accessorising them with chunky belts and big earrings.  I understand that it's a TV show and not real life, but the fashion choices are often so brave, it's absurd. It's something I wish I could do, you know, if I liked any colour other than black... I can connect to Aria the most out of all the liars. Firstly, she's short, just like me! Her outfits always have a bit of punk added to them, she's sarcastic, she loves to write and she's just the most relatable character of them all. Of course it helps that I have been a die hard Ezria shipper from day one till f...

Haul - Pretty Little Thing

Image
"Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping." After a couple of stressful days working overtime, prepping blog posts, updating my socials and attending interviews, I decided it was definitely time to treat myself with a little online shopping spree. So I ventured over to Pretty Little Thing, and had a browse through the site. Now, I'd seen their beaaautiful waterfall coat a few times on Instagram and different fashion bloggers posts, and I've felt like I needed to invest in it for a long time, even though we are coming up to Summer.  I was delighted to find that there was actually 20% off everything that day, so of course I went a little wild and did a bit of a haul.  The first thing that caught my eye was this beaut two piece. I have been obsessed with culottes ever since they came into fashion but I have honestly never had the courage to buy a pair and pull them off. That was of course until I saw these bea...

Style Inspiration: Effy Stonem

Image
"I'm Officially Off The Rails. You Should Try It." - Effy Stonem A few years ago I went through a phase where I was completely and utterly obsessed with Skins, and the character Effy Stonem. Not only was her character so beautifully intriguing to me, but her style was awesome too! I love to add a bit of grunge to all of my outfits, and I think I can honestly say that it originated from her, and to this day she is probably one of my most influential style icons. I find nowadays that so many people I see out and about, or on Instagram love to do the same thing, like ripped jeans for example!      With that in mind, I thought I could share with you some ways you can inspire your own style to be a little bit like Effy Stonem with a few pieces from some of my favourite online and high street stores.  Choker - Topshop ,  Necklace - Topshop ,  Check Shirt - Noisy May ( Asos ),  Co-ord - Missguided ,  Vest - Noisy May (Asos ),...

How To: Deal With Negative People

Image
"The less you respond to negative people the more peaceful your life will become." Photo Credit I know we can all have our bad days, heck I'll be the first to admit that I've had moments where I've envisioned punching someone in the face and found it extremely satisfying. We're human, it happens! However, there are certain people in this world who just never ever seem to have a smile on their face, regardless of the situation.   It's a damn shame that the world isn't full of lovely, amazing, kind people, and for the folk that are, it can be quite difficult having to deal with them putting a dampener on your spirits, and unfortunately, I'm sure there will come a time in each of our lives where we will have to encounter this breed.  So in preparation for when that time comes, here's a few tips on how to deal with negative people. 1)   Don't be influenced.  Quite often, the mood of the people around you can be infectious and yo...

OOTD: Channeling Carrie Bradshaw

Image
"I like my money right where I can see it... Hanging in my closet."  - Carrie Bradshaw   A few nights ago, a load of us from work went out for the evening for dinner and drinks. It was an evening well spent with great laughs, good food and lots of Prosecco. But I have to say, I was most excited about the fact I was able to debut my new favourite Spring outfit!  In this outfit, I definitely felt like Carrie Bradshaw, and that I was ready to run around the city of Manhattan falling in love, meeting with my girlfriends and writing about sex! But, unfortunately my life is not as glamorous as it is on the TV, and I have to go to work everyday instead. Boo!  Pastels are always a great way to go for a Spring/Summer look, and midi skirts, although have been around for a while, are not going out of style anytime soon. They are a perfect statement piece for an evening such as dinner or drinks.  You can find this skirt from H&M, this crop top from Miss ...

Getting Lippy - The Bigger, The Better

Image
"To me, beauty and makeup and color is like the finishing touch on everything." - Marc Jacobs Kylie Jenner has sent the world into a frenzy with her big lips. First we were all like "gurl, don't play we can see your real lip line" and now, it's virtually impossible for anyone to get their hands on MAC's Velvet Teddy lipstick, and Soar lip liner as everyone wants to steal the look!  So, over time I have learnt a few tips & tricks with make up that could enhance your lips, and fool everyone into believing they're natural!  All you'll need is a brown lip liner, and any nude colour lipstick. I'm using MAC Blankety, which is my absolute favourite right now.  Firstly I use my favourite lip balm from EOS to prevent my lips from drying out!  Then, I outline the whole of my lips. However, I am drawing the line slightly outside of my actual lip line, but not so much so that you are able to see a noticeable difference. It...

How To: Thigh High It

Image
"These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do" Thigh high boots are everywhere these days, and even though everybody seems to own a pair, they can be quite difficult to style,  especially if you're a short arse like me! I'm constantly looking at different blogs, or Instagram pics to figure out new looks and combinations. So today I thought, why not share with you a few very different looks with the same pair of boots!  1) The first outfit I want to share with you is the dressiest of the three, which is combining your thigh highs with a mini dress. This outfit was initially inspired by Ariana Grande, and it's the perfect trick to keeping warm on a cold night out. You can find this dress on Missguided, the belt from Urban Outfitters, and the boots are from Ebay.  2) My second outfit of choice is a more casual approach. I chose an oversized knitted jumper with a black leather skater skirt, I think this looks so cute and ...

Life Lessons By Pretty Woman

Image
"So what happens after he climbs up and rescues her?"  "She rescues him right back." - Pretty Woman I am so happy to be writing this post. I get to share my love for one of the greatest movies of all time. That movie of course being; Pretty Woman. Can you believe this film is 25 years old? It's older than me!  In honour of this love story, I would like to share with you 5 things I learnt from Pretty Woman. Now I'm not promising that all of these may be insightful and valuable lessons to yourselves, but they should entertain you at least!  1) There are certain things in life that you shouldn't settle on, and a partner is one of them. It's perfectly fine to want the happy ending and the perfect love story, so never settle for anything less. I know I won't until I find my own Richard Gere! 2) Don't judge a book by its cover. Although a woman may look like a prostitute, heck she might actually even be a prostitute. Do not ...

What I'm Crushing On

Image

Now that the weather is warming up, you can style these with a stripey polo neck crop, a chunky belt and some brown boots like those included here from Missguided .  I love  this oversized paisley print shirt ...

Current Eyebrow Routine 2015

Image
"Don't let anyone with bad eyebrows tell you shit about life."  Lately, girls and boys everywhere are obsessed with eyebrows, and it's not just their own. In fact, (and I know I'm not the only one who does this) whenever I meet someone new, they're the first thing I notice. Do not underestimate the importance of them people!  Astoundingly, if you look up #eyebrows on Instagram you can find over 2 million posts under the hashtag, with more being added every second. It's full of inspiring looks and tutorials, which can be perfect if you're a beginner looking for a little guidance on where to start.  I watched several videos from a range of people, some of which weren't even make up artists, before I developed my own routine. I learned tips and tricks from each of them and combined them to create my own method. So, thank you ladies!  After all this eyebrow talk, the only thing left for me to do is show you my own routine and list all the d...

Lily Collins Appreciation Post

Image
"I think it's just important to not judge people based on their physicality because it's really about personality and people's hearts and souls. That's what drew me to Audrey Hepburn who is kind of like my icon."    - Lily Collins Whenever I feel like I need to revamp my style, one of my go-to girls for fashion inspiration is my girl crush; Lily Collins. I'm obsessed with how she's constantly changing up her style and is always rocking a new hair-do every time I see her in the media.  The inspiring thing about Lily is that she has the confidence to wear anything and still look like a superstar. That could be a grunge look with a dark lip,  or just a simple jeans and jumper ensemble.  When I see a celebrity wear an outfit I love, I often find myself browsing online and in stores to find similar items, and I know you guys do it too! So I figured, why don't I save you guys some trouble and do the hard part for you... Over T...

The Oscar's 2015 - My Top 5

Image
"Stay weird. Stay different. And then when it's your turn and you are standing on the stage, please pass the same message to the next person who comes along."  -  Graham Moore Hello people of the blogging world!  It's award season, and I love  this time of the year because we get to see some of the most gorgeous frocks, on some of the most beautiful woman in the world. Of course, The Oscars are the best of the bunch, it's when the celebs pull out all the stops.  So, with this in mind, I thought what could be a better way to start my blog than with a few of my favourite outfits from the 87th Academy Awards. However, it wasn't as easy as I first envisioned. It was exceedingly difficult to narrow my choices down as there were soo many beautiful outfits to choose from, but after much deliberation, I think I've managed to compose a pretty impressive list. My 5 best looks from The Oscars 2015 are as follows: Emma Stone in Elie Saab Zen...
